| "I had a very similar experience as J.F. who posted a review on 10/15/11. I purchased a massage via living social as a gift for my partner. When my partner finally found the place, he refused to provide service to her because her name was not on the certificate. She informed him that it was purchased as a gift. He told her that if we were married and had the same last name, he would have allowed her to use the certificate. She called me upset that she was not able to use the certificate and I asked to speak him. I ended up speaking to the owner, Jay-Jurij Semonas, who was incredibly rude and insulting. He insisted that she could not use the certificate andt hat I had to redeem the certificate myself. Again hestated if we were married, he would let her use it. She and I have been together for almost 6 years, have rings but are not legally able to marry. I asked him to make an exception because we were a gay couple and could not marry. He became even more rude and felt he was discriminating against us because we were a gay couple. I too agree with J.F.'s comments that his website's statement that "I respect all human beings and honor their process" is completely contradictory with his actions and words. I will be writing Living Social to see if I can get my money back as I would never receive services from that man. Madison has a very large gay population and I find it sad that his small business owner would choose to lose business rather than treat people fairly." |  |
